Timbaali, Finlands only restaurant specialiazed to snails
Located in the heart of Old Porvoo, behind the old Town Hall, restaurant Timbaali brings You the atmosphere of past times. There has allegedly been a settlement on the site of the restaurant already in the Middle Ages and the current building was raised after the Porvoo Fire in the 1790's. The building has housed important persons ranging from tailors to dagerro artists. The building has also housed several restaurants of which the latest, Timbaali, was established in 1999.
The restaurant consists of four idyllic halls with room for about 100 guests. During the summers You can enjoy your dinner or just a glass of wine on Porvoo's most idyllic terrace.
The carefully selected wines of Timbaali are also worth acquainting oneself with. Snail products of all kinds can be purchased at the restaurant.
Timbaali was founded by former beauty queen Merja Tammi and her husband Ari Kovero. Merja and Ari sold the restaurant to Timbaali Oy, which was founded by employees of the restaurant in 2005.
